Our services

Story Paws customizes each program or event by working with community partners to better understand their needs. Since each organization and the members, clients, or patients at the organization have different needs, we collaborate with organizational leadership to develop and implement a unique approach. Below are a few examples of key services we can base a new program on, and if you don’t see what you are looking for, please reach out to collaborate.

Animal-Assisted Interventions

Animal-Assisted Activities: Creativity is the limit with Animal-Assisted Activities. Animal-Assisted Activities can be part of a treatment plan to improve overall quality of life. These visits may include visiting a community library where kids can read to the Therapy Dog, but reading progress is not tracked. Special social events, such as visits to a nursing home may bring joy and an opportunity to have an event in their community room. Paint and greet classes provide a specific audience for the chance to socialize with others while painting a dog. These activities do not have a particular objective or measurable targets. These visits are intended to bring joy!

Animal-Assisted Therapy: These are goal-based interventions that have a particular objective in mind. Behavioral and social activities may include Animal-Assisted Therapy like tea parties, practicing manners, or learning how to regulate behavior through mindful dog petting. These are some of the Animal-Assisted Interventions that could be used to measure student socialization progress or reducing the amount of outbursts in a classroom. Physical therapy visits where the patient pets or brushes the dog can track the improvement in a patient’s range of motion.

Animal-Assisted Education: Visits to a school may include students reading to a Therapy Dog to track reading progress over a period of time. These structured interventions may be special or general education, and school officials are able to track student progress.

All of our services are incorporated with programs to enhance the life quality of participants. We look forward to hearing from you and learning more about your specific needs.
